L'amour fou (1969), dir. Jacques Rivette. Not on (U.S.) DVD.
My "Top Posts" highlights continue in anticipation of my 5th anniversary this July. Each day I will be posting an intro with a link to one of the pieces I consider my best. Today's entry collects images gleaned from a 2008 internet meme asking bloggers for their "holy grail" films not yet available on DVD.
As always, please don't link to or attempt to comment on this intro page, which is a temporary bump and will be deleted when a new "Top Post" is featured tomorrow. You can link to, comment on, or recommend the original post.
Yesterday's Top Post, if you missed it, covered "Edward Scissorhands", "Gimme Shelter", "Cast Away", "Flash Gordon", and other films that came out the first week of December. Also, this weekend I posted a memorable quote about artistic creation and a visual tribute to two films about the knight Perceval.

This is an entry in the For the Love of Movies Film Preservation Blog, hosted by Ferdy on Films, etc. and Self-Styled Siren.
For the original, longer introduction and explanation, click here. For this anniversary re-posting I'll keep it short and note that the images below come in two parts: the first group consists of not-on-DVD titles from Allan Fish's decades countdowns on Wonders in the Dark, and the rest of the pictures were originally posted by various bloggers in response to my "Holy Grail" meme in the fall of 2008. A few were already on DVD at that time, and many more have become available since then. Yet quite a lot of the films featured below remain hidden treasures. Enjoy (note: some images are NSFW).
